ERB CTP scores are compared to students at other independent (private) schools nationwide — not to the general public school population. This makes ERB scores harder to achieve than state test scores. A 70th percentile ERB score is stronger than a 70th percentile on a state assessment.

The CTP 5 has multiple levels (Level 1 through Level 6+) matched to different grade bands. Schools administer the level appropriate to the grade — not always aligned 1:1 with grade number. Ask the school which level your child is taking.
